a couple of questions from new A1 user

1. The A1 comes with a Canon master tape; is it of a comparable quality to Sony tapes? I wouldn't like to mix tapes; if I use this one will it be easy to buy Canon tapes in the future? Types, prices, quality - anybody?

2. Is the Rode NTG1 microphone a good choice as an XLR solution? Performance, mounting - no problems?

3. Is there a custom-made soft bag for the A1?

4. I'm going to use the Manfrotto 503/525 tripod; how about a lanc control? Is the MN522 working well with the A1 (specifically, is the Push Auto Focus button working?)

Thanks for your advice!

Please refer to the numerous discussions we already have about this mic, in our forum called "Now Hear This" located at http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/forumdisplay.php?f=53.

Any soft case that fits the Sony HVR-Z1U or HDR-FX1 will also fit the Canon XH series camcorders.

Please refer to the numerous discussions we already have about lanc controllers, in our forum called "Remote Lens Controllers" located at http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/forumdisplay.php?f=123. Hope this helps,
