XH A1 'skewed' baseplate

Already a second problem with the XH A1: after placing the camera on a tripod, I didn't manage to calibrate the horizontal level of the camera, whatever I tried with the level on the tripod, there was something wrong with the lines I saw in the picture.

A strange phenomenon. I started checking the body of the camera, and discovered that the baseplate has a skewness of something between 0.5/1mm versus the camera body, hood, also clearly noticeable in the resulting picture.
Not very surprising that I couldn't level the camera...!

Anyone out there having a similar experience? Is Canon's support (let us say, their external service centers) able to fix this kind of issues?
