Canon Console - format for write-to-tape?

I'm looking at the Canon Console app to, primarily, fill my need to write video back to tape via my XH-A1.

My first (there will probably be more) question is:

What format should I output from my NLE (PP 2.0) for Console to take as input?

Do you need console to do this?

Why not just output to tape from PP2?

Because, sigh, PP2 for some reason does not support "export to tape" for the XH-A1.

Ok, feel like a fool . . . I just tried the export again from PP2.0 and it worked just fine.

Nevermind . . .
