HD Split + Mpeg_Slipstream = XH-A1 rushes in field?

Would anyone on this forum know if a free app such as HDV Split http://strony.aster.pl/paviko/hdvsplit.htm and Mpeg-Slipstream http://www.squared5.com could be used on a laptop to capture (HDV split) and then replay (Mpeg-slipstream) 'footage' from a XH-A1?

I don't edit on my laptop but would like to be able to do some capture and review some rushes in the field.

Thanks, Robert

It'll work fine...you'll need the quicktime mpeg module which costs a few bucks for MPEG Streamclip but works great.
