Is this an older model

We (I) dropped one of my Xl1s' on Saturday and it needs repairing (insurance job) but we were thinking of upgrading to newer models anyway. I watched the Xl2 promo video yesterday, and after speaking to a few people who use it decided to get one. I've been and bought a brand new one today from one of the main suppliers, and just going through the book and having a play around, decided to watch the promo video again. On the promo video the frame rate is described as 60i, 30i & 24i. The camera I have has 50i and 25i.

Have I been given an older version, or was the promo video made using a prototype model,or has the version i've got been released after?

Please reply asap 'cos if i've been given an older model i'll take it back and change it.

Regards, Carl

That's because the promo video was made in North America which uses the 60hz (NTSC) system. You're in the UK which uses the 50hz (PAL) system. The frame rates are the only difference, and that's strictly a function of which hemisphere you live in. Hope this helps,

Dear Carl,

All is well with your camera.

Your PAL television system is 50i and so is your camera.

The NTSC cameras do not have 50i, they have 60i to match the NTSC system.

Dear Chris,

I will fax you a beer tomorrow.

Do you still prefer "Shiner Bock"?

Or is there another beer that you like better?

Yes Dan to Shiner, but I'll drink anything you're willing to fax over.
