Delivery at DVinfo.net

Thanks for being all over this Chris, as always you make this place the most relevant and professional on the web. Here's my big question now that the mini35 issue is very happily resolved.

Any idea of true delivery date? I've got two short commercial films in preproduction that I would love to do in 16:9 as both are being produced for DVD. I 'd definitely consider holding off on production if I could shoot them both with the new XL2.

I can't give you anything solid but perhaps you can try and phone
ZGC & B&H to see if they can give you a solid date? See my

Canon (UK) have stated September for their delivery for the PAL version.
I'm afraid I can't help you Stateside though...

Thanks Rob...I need to call B&H tomorrow anyway, and they're likely to have good an idea as anyone at this point.

At first I heard September, but then I heard August. I'll try to nail it down with CUSA in the morning.

i just called B&H, they have NO info on this cam yet. they have no idea when.

Word from Canon USA at DV Expo is "late August or early September." Or in other words, about six to eight weeks from now.

i'm so ditching my 'old' xl1s and getting the xl2 =). watch for it onsale in the DVI classifieds after xl2 pops up =).
