Where to buy and get it immediately???

I was counting on getting this camera as soon as it came out. I have been on preorder Status with promax since early July. I was guarenteed one in the first batch.

NOT!!

Just got a call from Promax and for reasons they couldn;t exactly disclose (they must be having issues with Canon and contracts) they won't be getting any at all!

I sold my DVX knowing that my next paying gig was Sept 11 and now I really need that camera.

In short can anyone refer me to a good, reliable vendor that I can get it from and not be on a really long waiting list? I am going to start calling around but anticipate poor results. Man....I am depressed. I purposely reserved this so early to avoid this kind of hassle!

Thanks......

Marty

ZGC just posted a few days ago that they will be one of the few dealers to be selling the camera...so you might check with them (they are also a dvinfo sponsor).

I've placed a deposit on an xl2 with Samy's Camera here in california, and I would expect they would get them as soon as anyone.

Immediately, though....don't think that's going to happen....Dealers probably won't see any until the last week of August at best.

Barry,
Thanks for the info! I guess I thought everyone would know that when I said immediately I actually meant as soon as they are released. Not right now. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

It was after 5:00 when I found out about the PROMAX issue so I could not call ZGC as they were closed. I will be calling them first thing in the morning.

Thanks.

ZGC is an excellent dealer. So are our other DV Info Net sponsors, Express Video Supply, Zotz Digital and B&H. Get their contact info from our sponsors page. These are all authorized Canon dealers and they support this site. Buy from them with confidence.

I've talked to all of them except ZGC and when I talk to them I will make a decision. I used the sponsor page to find all of them.

Thanks!
