60i and presets

Do the presets (eg. cine gamma, etc) work with 60i. Does not appear to, to my eyes, anyway.

Yes they do. All these changes are subtle no matter what the framerate is. The camera's LCD display may not show them clearly -- you'll need an external CRT monitor, a good one, to really see the differences.

cp color

Is there a reason why the letters cp are of a different color in the viewfinder when in 60i ( they're white in 24p)? Thanks

What color are they? If they're purple, it means that feature is not available in that particular program mode.

See page 57 of the manual: If you're shooting in the "Green Box" (easy recording) program mode, then you can't use the custom presets. They'll be "purpled out," meaning unavailable.

What program mode are you using? Auto, Manual, Tv, Av, etc.?

Can't find a thing about it in the owner's manual. Anybody else have any input on this?

Isn't that the indicator that shows you have a custom preset
selected?
