Standby mode/power save function for XL2

After years of shooting with an XL1, I finally got the new XL2 & I'm excited as heck about it. I thought they got rid of the stndby /power save function, or at least allow me to go to the menu & turn it off. Have I over looked it ?

The default is Shut Off, but you can change it to VCR Stop (in the VCR section of the Menu). I don't think you can disable it altogether (could be wrong of course).

I set Custom Key 2 to switch in and out of VCR Stop mode. This at least lets you activate the transport in advance of needing to use it. I expect it's handy for saving battery life too.
