Quick help please -- how to mono?

Using one XLR input, how do I record to both channels? I have no access to the camera between shoots to play with the settings unfortunately. Is there just a switch somewhere that will put the the thing in mono? Since it's working fine now, I'm hesitant to do much fiddling with the menus during the shoot. I know I could just record to one channel and leave the other blank, but it seems kinds of sloppy. Sorry if this is a dumb question, which it probably is.

On the audio controls panel behind the door on the left side, select Ch1: Ch1 - Ch2. This feeds the left XLR input signal to both channels.

Thanks a bunch. Managing two XLR cords and an extension cord for the headphone output was a huge pain.
