Pixel count: 16/9 versus 4/3
What is the actual pixel count of the XL2 in 16:9 and in 4:3? Is there a noticeable drop in image quality in 4:3?

Pixel Count 4: v 16:9
Hi Bill,
Canon state 350,000 pixels for 4:3 and 460,000 pixels for 16:9 in their product tour guide. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...&modelid=10350 As for picture quality, I can't answer yet. As I speak, my XL2 is winging it's way across the United States from B&H photo to Livermore CA. :-)) Regards, Allan |

There is no drop in image quality in either 4:3 or 16:9. The XL2 is full-res in either mode.
See my article at http://www.dvinfo.net/canonxl2/articles/article06.php for all the details. |
