blue barn presets manager issue - newbie question

hey, everyone. have been reading over this site a lot lately. invaluable stuff. thanks.

here's my issue. i've recently downloaded the blue barn presets manager and i can't seem to get it to work correctly. when i try to choose one of the presets (1, 2 or 3) at the top of the page, there's a short delay, then an error window pops up, promting the whole site to shut down. my camera's connection to the computer is a-okay. i have windows xp w/ service pack 2, so i should be okay there. i've seen other people who've had this issue, and they've said you need to make sure your computer is updated so as to let blue barn know it's OK to install on to your camera. as far as i know, my computer is fully updated. it does so automatically every night. still, no good. any ideas?

what it allows me to do is this: i can set up a particular preset and save it to my blue barn file (typing the settings in manually). i can't seem to download any custom presets from my camera to the manager, or vice versa. i'm only able to construct/save custom settings for future viewing.

help! (thanks, guys)...
