What, you want them to cut YOU in as well Allen?!

Thanks for the comments - especially the MTV bit!

If you're interested, I've posted a few details about the lighting, most of which was added in post.

Here it is: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthrea...584#post574584

Cheers,

Oh if they'd like to cut me in, I'd be delighted... (lol)

What I was getting at was the fact we both have 'premiered' our debut music videos this week, both made on "zero" budgets, both on a promise etc etc...

http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=74392 (see post #11)

Must say, I can't wait to start my next one...

Ha! I'll speak to them! Just took a peek at your video and made a few comments over at your thread.

Just briefly, I think it's great!

On the "you and me both" theme, I noticed our singers both used the same mic and both songs featured the oft-employed telephone eq settings!

Cheers!

I've been curious how your video would turn out since I saw the stills you posted on here. Fantastic job. I love the effects you used and the camera work. Its nice to see a fresh music video concept that hasn't been killed over a hundred times.

That's the "fun" bit Ian. Hopefully you won't get too many comments along the lines of "Ooh I don't like my hair there" or "But I'm playing A minor, diminished 7th at the point!"

Good luck...

Well I downloaded the video a couple of days ago and I'm hooked. I was actually humming it walking around the house this morning !! So song wise its certainly catchy although typically not what I'd usually listen too....I think it would chart well.

The video is great, a really nice flow and pace to it with a nice mixture of shots and effects. I already said previously I love the 'colour blocking' effect and it looks just as nice in the moving format. A couple of small points, the shot of the band on the airstrip, would like nicer centered, at the moment it looks neither purposely composed nor properly centered. Also some of the angled lighting effect gets a litte overdone imo! but hey these are small points....great job fella!!

And nice track:)

Well the only comment from the singer, Jess, was that her nose looks red in one of the exterior shots! Other than that I think their expectations were surpassed, which I am delighted about. I'm trying to slow them down in their desperate desire to get the thing on every music and video website on the planet, at least until I've had a chance to address some of the issues raised here and by my other test audiences.

Mat, thanks for your comments. Interestingly, the shot looks nicely centered when it's on a tv. I'll take a look at that though, see if there's anything I can do. You're actually very perceptive in that I wanted movement in the shot (the crawl in) but it was all a bit rushed and we had no time to rehearse. It was our last shot of the day (wanted to get the golden glow from the sunset behind us) and we were already over time. In fact, in a later part of that take you can even see the flashing hazard lights of the security truck that had come to escort us over the active runway. I really like the slow crawl in (yes, I admit, I zoomed) so I elected to keep the shot.

As for the lighting effects, yeah, you got me. But I love it and it's staying so there! ;-).

I'll pass your comments on to the band - or you can do it yourself: www.myspace.com/cradlejess

Cheers!
