Canon XL2 preset to match a Sony VX1000 ?
Not an ideal match I know, but I will be shooting my little boy's preschool christmas concert in a church hall lit with it's flourescent lights only and there are windows behind me so the hall is not too dark, and there will be a VX1000 on hand for some alternative shots. I will not have the benefit of a camera light.
Can anyone suggest a preset for my PAL XL2 which will near match the warm saturated colours of the VX1000 (which I happen to like)? Beyond that, if I was to shoot manual should I select the frame rate of 50i or 25p, and then what shutter speed and what aperture. I have very little experience with the XL2 indoors and so finally a quick word of advice in respect of adjusting the gain would help. The standard instruction manual simply tells me that -3db is for lowest noise recording for indoor low light, but +3dbs onwards will increase brightness in indoor scenes. Bearing in mind I will have no rehearsal and only the viewfinder for a judgement call, what will be the safest bet? I know other parents will be after a copy of my tapes so suggestions to any of these points will help. |
