XL2 - matching XL1 footage
Hello!
I have an XL2, three VX2000s and a VX2100. I'm fine with all of the regular video footage we get. I'm also getting into "film" work and love the 24p 16x9 look of the XL2. I just bought a used XL1 to use as a back up on "film" shoots. However, I realize the XL1 won't shoot in 24p mode. First, if I need to switch to my backup camera (XL1) will I be able to match the footage with footage I shot at 24p with the XL2? Or, just to be safe, am I better off shooting everything at 30 or 60? Along the same line, can I match Sony VX2100 footage with XL2 24p footage? I'll do some tests, but does anyone have any input? |

I don't know what you do because you didn't say. Since you have so many different cameras maybe go the opposite direction and make them all look radically different. It may give some scope to your project. XL1 footage looks prehistoric next to the XL2 shoot in frame mode, boost the gain, tweak the shutter, and desaturate the color make it look like chunky B&W. Use the sonys as your video look. Add the fake tv line interlace filter and exaggerate the look, only use it handheld. Corporate meetings, okay, probably not but then again who ever watches those tapes anyway. Good Luck.
