XL Mount Question

Is what i think true ??? Will the 14x Manual Lens work with this new camera in the HDV Format, as well as the regular dv, and give you a full frame or will it be cropped...

Thanks
Brian

It will be full frame, but will not pass all the necessary resolution to the chips.

In other words, you won't want to use it.

All of the earlier XL lenses are compatible with the XL H1 but will provide sufficient image resolution only for standard definition DV recording, not HDV.

Answered in the second-to-last paragraph at http://www.dvinfo.net/canonxlh1/xlh1skinny.php#newlens

"Canon states that it will not comment on future products, leaving the question of additional XL HD lens options up in the air."
