Bella Corp. Catapult...
I suppose most have seen this, but I'm considering the XL-H1 and this looks like the most promising HD solution for direct recording in the field -- assuming it's going to work as advertised.

Don't think that iPods have fast enough Hard drives yet for reliable HDV capture, Also it's usb2 |

It's USB 2.0 from the Catapult to the hard drive -- firewire from the Catapult to camera. It also states that the Catapult works with any USB hard drive not just the iPod.
