Console Software Now Available!
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Just wanted to let everyone out there know that the XLH1 Console software will be available through Canon's Dealer Network on Monday, July 24th. Previously this was only available from Canon Direct. As a Canon Authorized Dealer TapeWorks Texas inc. is now accepting orders on this much anticipated release. Thanks, Jason Price TapeWorks Texas inc. Jason@TapeWorksTexas.com 866.827.3489 |

Just curious, is it still v1.0, or have they updated it?

I have heard that the Console software does work on the Intel based Macintoshes.
Greg Boston posted this earlier: "Works really good! They had Console running on an Intel based Imac in the Canon booth at NAB. Cindy, from Canon, told me that it ran great in this configuration." I do not know if this applies equally to an Intel based Mac laptop.

Eric, there is a very particular order to Console setup for both hardware (camera) and software. If you just try to install as if it is any other Windows program and miss any steps during setup, it won't recognize your camera. Definitely a case where you can't get away with not using the manual. I don't use it myself, so can't be more specific but I do remember when they first posted the trial, I could not get it to work until they posted the manual.
If you're sure you've followed the installation steps exactly and it still doesn't work, Canon support would be in order. If that's needed, let us know how responsive they are.

Sorry, should have been more specific. The trial software won't download from the Canon site.

I can not get the Console software download to work either.
I sign the Trial Software agreement, then click to download the software. Then a window pops up ( I have all pop-up blockers off, as requested), then it goes away without any software being downloaded.
