Zoom Controller

OK....so its one item for the XL1s I never got round to buying, but the zoom rocker on the camera itself has developed an annoying creaking sound so i've decided to finally buy a zoom controller....

My question is, does anyone have any experience with the following device....

http://www.signvideo.com/zoom-comman...ler_II_pro.htm

Or would they advise spending the extra dosh on the Canon ZR1000.

I tried that controller...I wasn't happy with it. So I replaced it with a vari-zoom (the stealth model I think)...MUCH better, it's worth the few extra $$.

I purchased both a signvideo and a varizoom, The only reason I am keeping the signvideo is that I have the one that allows me to use it to control remote playback functions also, it makes recording and checking my playback from a kessler crane much simpler. I found the varizoom extremely comfortable to use with a tripod.

Thanks guys,
I got the VariZoom VZ-Rock in the end, and i'm really impressed with it, well worth the money. Got a shoot in a few days and can't wait to use it!
