Ever heard of Opteka wide angle?

Hello all
There is an American company called Opteka seling a wide angle adaptor for the Xl1 and Xl1S on Ebay for £200.
This is a good deal less than any other wide angle adaptor for the XL1s. Has anyone got/ use one of these? What's it like?

Any information would be gratefully received!
Many thanks
sparky

Sorry, I can't help---but do you have their web address? I'm curious about the brand.

Try GOOGLE search on Opteka

A lot of people are wondering about the brand name's current day products.

I would email the seller asking for more info. The sellers name is the same as the product. I think I would pass or at the very least find out what his return policy is if it doesn't meet your standards. Buyer beware on ebay.

"All sales final. No returns." On that note, I would not buy it until I saw a lot if people I trust sayingit is a good deal.

Opetka was a German name form the 1930's era (owned by Anne Frank's father?). This product says it is from Japan. A couple posts on the make, if not the specific item you are looking at.

My one take is they are asking 200UK for the lens for a 72mm thread mount. IMHO, too low price for quality, and probably an item to avoid if you are not into gambling.
