400mm Canon FD lens mounted on an XL1s

XL1SOLUTIONS kindly shipped me a prototype for their Canon EOS lens to XL1s adapter. I've mounted a 400mm FD type lens via a Canon FD adapter and then XL1solutions adapter to my XL1s. Note that this adapter gives a focal length change by +2x. Photos thru this lens and photos of my setup are at the following URL:

Also shown are photos of a Canon EOS f2.8/L 70-200 Zoom mounted to my XL1s. The FD lens solution works great because these old FD lenses have manual aperture rings. The newer electronic canon EOS lenses do not have useable aperture settings because of their electronic nature. I still have to run some DOF tests, but, the pull focus with this setup is jaw-dropping.

Gareth..

Love to.... BUT....I NEVER post video files. Way too big and takes way too much time over my pitiful 56k connection. Not to mention the space I need at my ISP server. By the time I compress the files to a postable compression size, the lost quality doesn't do the rez any justice anyway.

fd adapter focal length factor?

Hi. Does the FD adapter have any affect on the focal length?

Thanks for posting the photos. My wish list has just grown a little longer.
