Leo, if there's no restocking fee you should definitely return your camera and buy a new one to get the rebate. That is quite unfair otherwise.

The rebate itself is a little ambigous, or perhaps contradicting. In one paragraph,
"Purchase any new XL1S and recieve $500 cash back..." And then, at the bottom in the Terms and Conditions, it's written, "XL1S shown with optional accessories.", moreso as an indication to the XL1S photo printed in the rebate PDF file, rather than a requirement (considering the context). At least, that's how it reads. Does anyone know for sure if this only applies to the XL1s bundle, or if this also applies to the XL1S body-only? The rebate has me interested in an XL1S, but not if I have to buy accessories I have no use for since I would opt for a manual lens and B&W viewfinder. Thanks in advance. David K. |
Contact Canon USA directly for the terms and conditions of their rebate offer. What anyone says here in the forums, will have no bearing on what Canon does and doesn't honor in relationship to their rebate offer on the XL1S.

Does this apply to UK users?
Hi,
I bought my XL1s two months ago. It's a brilliant piece of kit but would be totally megga for $500 less. I'll check with my dealer on Monday but does anyone know if a similar system operates in the UK and if not, why not. Cheers! |
I doubt it happens in UK.....we dont even have Canon Owners Club anywhere in UK or even Europe for that matter.
