Where to buy in Canada
Hi,
First-time poster...I'm a film student currrently living in Montreal, Qc. and looking into purchasing either the XL1s or GL1...I was hoping that some of the Canadians out there can help me out with where to get my camera and/or accessories...are there any other Montrealers out there? If so, do you know of any stores in or around the city where I can check out first hand one or both of these cameras, and possibly the Sony cameras? Also, any Ottawa or Toronto people out there? I don't mind making the drive out to Ontario if I can't find what i'm looking for here... Thanks, Dave Richler |

where to buy
Hey there, I live in Montreal as well and found that by going from store to store I was able to great a good deal on a GL1 from imagepoint on St Catherine($2950.00), also I was able to talk people down to about $5300.00 on an XL1( which I kinda of wish I had bought ). Lots of places will give the high price right away its up to you to bring that price down, so shop around.

same boat
I'm in the same boat but I'm in Vancouver. I was quoted a price of $6600 pre tax from a place in Victoria. It sure is tough trying to find places (through the Internet) that advertise that they sell.
In the thread about "Where to buy" I posted a Japanese quote I got which was quite a bit less. |

I bought my XL1s from a company called Vistek in Calgary as part of a package. I believe they have their head office in Toronto. I put out a tender to three places in Alberta, and they came in the lowest and had most things in stock. They also threw in some free tapes and a head cleaner. I believe their website is www.vistek.ca - don't let their advertised prices scare you off - I believe they are full retail.
