Uploading Video to Computer
Several years ago I bought a JVC HR-DVS3U so that I could download mini dv tapes from that deck rather than beating up my xl1s using it as a vcr deck. I was also planning to use Avid DV Express as my editing program. All taht didn't work out (timing issues with work, etc). Now I have a copy of Sony Vegas Platinum and plan to use that.
The Problem: I have connected the firewire from the JVC to the PC and I can't get the upload transfer to function. Any help is much appreciated. I'm feeling real novice probablt cause I am. Thanks |

Some have found it may help to connect the camcorder and power it up before you start the PC. May or may not help in your case. Check in sme of the Vegas user forms for additional help.

Hi Stanley.............
Forget the JVC, use the Canon itself. You can't and won't break it and it will outlive you!
Believe me, I've got one and have hammered it mercilessly for the last 8 years. As for the transfer not working - did the JVC ever work? Is the PC or deck port smoked? Maybe try another Firewire device other than the Canon and see if the Operating System can see it. If so, use the XL1s. If your software for some reason can't see it, try downloading any of the freebie software available for SD and use that instead. CS |
