Slow Motion with XL1
Hi, I've just been lent a PAL XL1. What's the best way to carry out slow motion effects? Is it possible to change the framerate? Thanks. How should I film it etc?

Hellow,
You cannot change the framerate, you can only do that on real film cameras and on the HVX, the new HD cam from Panasonic which will be out in December. I advise to do a search on this topic, because there have been many. I think in the Towards a Film Look-boards (but I'm not sure) there was somebody who asked: "slow motion like in Hollywood films?" and it was a kind of big thread with much information. EDIT: this is it: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthrea...ht=slow+motion I think many people will advise you to shoot in 50i (Normal Mode) for slow motion shots instead of 25p (Frame Mode). Also, if you for example, put it into slow motion with your editing program, which in my case would be Premiere Pro (I don't have Final Cut Pro, but it won't be that much of a difference) it's best to choose a filmspeed like 50 procent or 75 procent, and not 28 procent. More rounded numbers. Best regards, |
