ProspectHD v3.2.4 Build 154 changes: question

One of the notes on the most recent fixes was the following:

" Fixed - Decoder now knows when it is being run within HDLink. This fix prevents the "Desktop Playback - Fast" mode from impacting quality for CineForm-to-CineForm resizng conversions "

David, would you comment on this please? Since the final output quality of our material is very important to us, could this have affected some of our downsized output recently or in days past?

If so, would it be worth re-outputting down-sized material, either in AVI or in MOV's (which we use for making our Flash movies)? Sometimes we've wondered at downsized quality...so please explain.

Only an issue if you used "Desktop Playback - Fast", otherwise all was working correctly.

We use it all the time! I would guess many others do as well. That doesn't sound very encouraging to me!

On second thought, we've been going from full sized MOV's to Flashs EXACTLY for that reason! Now I remember that trying to use downsized re-wrapped MOV's gave very poor quality flv's.

That explains it.

Anyway, I'm glad you fixed it! Now I know I'm not going crazy..........yet.

I couldn't understand why those pesky MOV's gave such poor results! But the early ones I used were down-sized and re-wrapped from full size (1920x1080p) CF'ed AVI's.

The full size MOV's are huge, but give good quality flv output.
