FirstLight - 'Database Not Present' Message

I have just upgraded to Win 7 with a clean install. I had backed up my FirstLight projects but when I now open them in Win 7 with reinstalled FirstLight I get the message,

"This project refers to a database that does not exist on this computer. You will be working in the currently enabled database."

In the project I had created some other named databases but these no longer appear, only the default "db" does. The colour settings created the other databases have been lost.

Is there any way I can find these missing databases, e.g. in the Windows.old folder created by the clean install process, and bring them back into the FirstLight project?

Projects are not databases, they only list which clips are used with First Light and which database is the current default. The databases can exported or imported independently as *.cdb file. If any part of your old system is left, databases in the raw form are typically stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\CineForm\LUTs. If that path still exist copy the contents to your new database location -- set by the registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/CineForm/ColorProcessing/LUTPath

I have recovered my previous databases, moved them across into my Win7 environment and the database options appear in the dropdown box on opening up FirstLight.

But when I try to reopen an old FirstLight project file I get a Windows message "FLPlayer.EXE has stopped working". None of the clips coming in will play in the FirstLight window. It is blanked out in white.

Has anyone else had this error? Are there some other settings I need to bring across to get old project files to work?

Does loaded a single clip directly work? You will likely need to discuss this with support.

I found the problem. The FirstLight project was accessing video files on an extrernal disk and the drive had reinstalled under a different letter from when the project was created. Moved the letter back to the original and all is fine.

So it looks like inability to find the video files' location was causing the project to fail? Maybe a dialogue box asking for where a file is located if it can't be found automatically would be a useful feature?
