Split file on scene changes

Is anyone having a problem with this not working?

HDLink, Capture only MPEG2-TS files, Split file on scene change.

Captured a single tape, 51 minutes, of five days hunting with two hunters so I know I hit stop/start record more than once and definitly shut the camera off a few times. When I captured the tape it was one single file.

Any help?

Thanks

Jim

I haven't heard of any issues. What software version and what camera are you using?

So, everytime I have captured a tape, it always makes one big file. Is it not supposed to work this way?

Not if there are separate scenes in the recording.

I assume each time you stop and start the camera this is a seperate date code stamp? So, with aspect or prospect in Ppro I have always put the tape in a HDV camera, gone to capture within Ppro, and hit the tape button. Now, is there a way to capture that does scene detect automatically that I have missed so I do not get one huge 40 or 80 gig file?

Just crash record in PPro with the scene detection turned on. This will work, the discussion above it related to M2T only captures with HDLink.

Jim,

does the scene detection work with the conversion to AVI switch on (not keeping the M2T?) Just looking for possible clues.
