I have just today started having problems with my nano, It keeps loosing time code yes i have tried 3 sdi cables and it makes no difference, Iam using ths Sony PMW320 camera and up to today have had no probs like this, I switch the camera on the nano starts up and has time code then it looses it, if i wiggle the sdi cable that goes in to the nano it sometimes comes back then try and record it sometimes does or it just says no timecode or problem with codec

This has come at a critical time for me the progect iam working on i hope i can get it fixed quick or i could be stuffed

Re: Problems with nano

Dear Ian,

The key is whether you see "No Src", "No Source" when the timecode is intermittent.

If so, then we need to troubleshoot why the nanoFlash is not seeing the source HD-SDI signal.

This "No Src" can be caused by a bad cable, a 50 Ohm cable instead of a 75 Ohm cable, a bad source (camera), or a bad nanoFlash.

Re: Problems with nano

thanks Dan

But for some reason it seems to be working, this happened after been out in a rain storm although both camera and nano were protected with a rain coat i had to put the camera + nano in my bag the rain jacket for the camera was wet although they were only in there for half a hour i took them out as soon as i got home both camera and nano were dry,

This problem arose next day so could it be that the air in the bag was humid and affected the nano and now after a day or so in the house its sorted itself

Re: Problems with nano

Dear Ian,

Our circuits could operate differently, just as any others could, if there is condensation on them.

I, however, do not know of any other reported cases of this problem.

I will ask our engineers for their thoughts.

Re: Problems with nano

Ok thanks Dan

Its been crap weather here today so i have not been using the nano but I have just turned the camera on and the nano works fine so it could have got some damp in, Is there any rain cover for the nano that would be extra to camera rain cover

Re: Problems with nano

Dear Ian,

Anything that keeps the rain off the nanoFlash will do.

But, in your case, I feel that the problem occured when it was put up with a wet camera rain cover.

I feel that the humity reached 100% and then condensed out on the nanoFlash, possibly causing the problem.
