Glad I could help. Here is a interesting article that compares several tapeless storage solutions.

Page 3 talks about the nNovia QuickCapture A2D

Another note is that the unit is available in different battery mounting configurations and one is a Anton Bauer mount.

I believe Douglas Spotted Eagle has a couple of QuickCapture A2D's, you might write to him directly to get his opinion. If I'm not mistaken, he thinks quite highly of them.

nNovia QCDeck - has anyone seen this?

I saw a preview of this unit from this site:

http://www.gdbint.com.au/Product.aspx?pID=352&ptype=p

I can't find much about it on the net but it looks so dreamy! Being able to swap out media drives and hdv support via firewire. Lots of cool features that I wish the firestore had.

Does anyone know anything about this unit?

Looking at the photo, it seems quite big. Not really something you can attach to the bottom of our camera and carry around with you. But I could be wrong.

The specs look impressive, although I've never heard of nNovia before. You'd want to test drive it before purchasing.

Interesting never-the-less!

I agree, it does look rather big. I have heard alot of good reports from people using Nnovia and so I am going to keep an eye out for this unit.

nNovia quickcapture

The nNovia A2D does capture DV via firewire.
I have been doing it for two years. Works good.

Nnovia Quick Capture hard drive

Hello,
I know that with the FS-4 you can open it up, put in a larger laptop hard drive, and void your warranty. Is it possible to do this with the Quick capture?

Thanks,
Luke :^)
