After Effects and XDCam HD mxf files

Can it be true, Is After Effects still unable to open XDCAM HD .MXF files? I see it now accepts mp4 from the EX range of cameras, and it opens P2 files - but no XDCam HD ??

Paul

I'm running CS3 with 8.0.2 patch.

and now I've downloaded and installed the latest CS4 After Effects including the latest patch, and it refuses to import XDCam HD files, EX1 mp4 files but does import P2 - so no improvement there then.

What hardware an OS are you running?

If you're on a Mac you should be able to use XDCam EX material if you installed the XDCam Transfer software. It should also do it if you're running FCP v6.0.5.

I downloaded the AE CS4 trial and these are my test results:

XDCAM EX MP4 doesn't import in CS4 but does import in CS3. Why that???

XDCAM HD MXF doesn't import in both CS4 and CS3.

Only P2 MXF does import in both CS4 and CS3.

I think this is an install problem, I finally re installed my OS on the laptop and started with AE CS4, it installed correctly, and then when opened for the first time it installed extra effects and codecs.

It now imports .mxf from XDCam HD, mp4 from EX1 and P2.

At Last.

Don't get it to work with the Trial (Mac). Installed it on a fresh system, installed the Premiere Pro Trial as well , nothing.

Anyone get this to work on Mac?
