Need After Effects or just use Pro?

I use Premiere Pro and I'm not doing any fancy Harry Potter type special effects, is there really a need for me to buy After Effects? The most extreme effects I do are the occasional gunshot in shorts that I make. Is AE worth getting for the noise/grain reduction? Thanks Scott

You probably don't. Check some of the add-on tools for PP, like Red Giant, Boris, etc. They might do what you want for less money and integrate more easily into your current workflow. That said. I'd rather give up a minor limb than give up AE. |

I suppose if any of use where to ask ourselves honestly do we really need half the stuff we have the answer would probably be no. But we carry on treating ourselves nontheless... After effects is the absolute business. |

When I was a boat wright I bought tools, some of them rather dear, because they helped me do better work faster. Video isn't any different. AE is all that and a bag of donuts.
