I'm going to to this event with a mate on Tues 17th. Not been before but the exhibitors list and events look good. Hope to see some of you UK DVinfo people there!

I'll be there on Tuesday looking for a new camcorder. I've been for the past four years and its great for checking out new kit and stocking up on discounted tapes and DVDs. Theres always a lot to see and you'll do a lot of walking, so travel light if you can.

I'm hoping there will be one of the new JVC Solid State SDHC cams to look at!

I'll be just behind you in the queue at the JVC stand. There are always queues to play with the new cams, especially at the Sony stand.

Me too - the HM700 looks spot on for my requirements. Please let it be on show and available to play with :-)

Speaking of which - not sure if all this info was previously available but interesting anyway:

I'm going too - tomorrow (Tuesday) pm.
If anyone would like a quick drink after it finishes let me know.
I've read so many of Andy's posts, for instance, that it would be nice to put a face to the name.

Hi Richard,

sent you an e-mail just now....just in case you fancy a pint (or two) late afternoon in a local pub after walking round the show. I look as bad as the pics of me on my website BTW!

:-)

Nice resume of some of the show's highlights Phil. Whilst you were busy writing that I was in a pub (with Richard) having a great chat and a few beers!

I think the baby JVC GY-HM100 SDHC camera will be a big seller (even at the estimated £2,800 price I was told it will go for). Lovely and light to hold but I'd love to see how it's 3 x 1/4 chips perform in challenging light conditions...

Standing waiting in the corridor for the Sony seminar I got into a fascinating chat with a lens designer and we were discussing aspherical surfaces formed by making doublets from plastic and glass.

But the floor is buzzin' and heavin'. Recession? What recession? Prices are on the up if anything. Lots of 3D TV, lots of LED lighting, lots of tapeless workflows, lots of eating places. Room to move, bargains to be had, people to meet. I was given a USB stick, LED ballpoint pen, DVCAM tape, lots of sweeties and entered competitions galore.

tom.
