Blu-ray vs HD-DVD will be a fun one to watch. Blu-ray has superior technology, but that doesn't mean it will win.

I think next gen players will have to play both formats for a while. But I want a blu-ray burner for $400.00 as soon as I buy my new Panny hdx! ;-)

Does this mean that Apple is siding with Sony, or can they be expected to back both formats? I thought Sony hated Apple. Maybe Sony will finally sanction an OSX version of SonicStage.

Didn't you see MacWorld where Jobs trotted out Sony's (former) CEO? Regarding Blu-Ray, see the following: http://www.forbes.com/facesinthenews...ahoo&referrer=
Quote:
"Apple is pleased to join the Blu-ray Disc Association board as part of our efforts to drive consumer adoption of HD," Jobs said in a statement.

Here's another article: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...11/bs_nf/31118
Quote:
Apple's decision solidifies the shape of the battle: hardware or device manufacturers on one side and content providers on the other. Most hardware providers are aligning with Blu-ray, and most content providers are backing HD DVD.
