Team Rebel Design Beholder DS1 handheld gimbal

Beholder 3-Axis Handheld DS1

Has a reasonable payload at 3.8lbs / 1.7kgs. That's a bit more than most other one hander gimbals.
That can hold a Canon 5D or a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera with SpeedBooster and lens.

Re: Team Rebel Design Beholder DS1 handheld gimbal

tried it and this is the best gimbal i have ever filmed with

i havent balanced the camera very well on this cause I was in rush but even like this i got some really superb footage and the gimbal is very very easy to use and on the inverted mode it works even better!

my previous experience was the SKYGLIDE PRO, the Varavon BIRDYCAM ii and the original RONIN and the RONIN M and i liked the DS1 more

the only thing that I didnt like is

the very very annoying strong NOISE coming from the motors cause my combo was the a7 + 10-18.

and the luck of communication with the team rebel

I sent them a msg 4-5 days ago and i still didn't got any reply apart from the auto-reply email.

Re: Team Rebel Design Beholder DS1 handheld gimbal

I had a chance to play with one at PhotoExpo Plus in NYC a few days ago. It was on display at the OwlDolly booth. They had a BMPCC, adaptor, small wide lens on it.

The most impressive feature is the payload which seems to be significantly greater than any other single handheld gimbal on the market.

Regarding the noise, while I had no camera recording to listen to, the vibration I felt from the motor certainly could be noisy. I don't doubt it has to do with using a motor strong enough to handle the kind of payloads possible.

I'm surprised their DS1 isn't getting a bit more attention. I know their previous gimbals received some mixed reviews but it seems they've improved a lot of things over the MS1. It would allow for some reasonably hefty glass on it.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen! The size is great and the price isn't bad. Could be very useful with the GH4.
