Good news for XDCAM HD owners

CNN is launching an HD channel and has chosen XDCAM HD for its field cameras. I was told this at NAB but needed to wait for the official news.

See the article for other networks that are going with XDCAM HD.

That's a strong endorsement for the future of the format. I must say I've often knocked Sony for some strange and dare I say disconnected business decisions in the past, but I like the XDCAM format as a whole and think with the new higher and lower end introductions at NAB that they might be difficult to dislodge as a reference for tapeless recording solutions in a few years, in all market segments.
