Quicktime movie not playing on Canadian mac?
Hi
I have a quicktime movie on my site that people can download (shot in PAL). It works fine on my computer. I did change it's size to 909 x 480 (it was 640 x 480 but I wanted it to play widescreen) A person who downloaded it from Canada cannot play the .mov file, it appears pixelated. This person usually has no problems playing downloads. I can't work this one out, could that change of image dimension affected playback? Or could this be a PAL/NTSC issue? |

Well it's not NTSC/PAL, because computers don't care either way. The problem could be the way you saved it. Open the movie and push Command J. Check to see what type of encoder the video used, and make sure the Canadian has the right codec on his/her computer.

thanks Edward
The video file is MPEG-4 saved as a .mov file I originally saved the film (via standard compressor settings) as an MPEG-4 setting, then in quicktime, I changed the movie dimensions to widescreen, ie from 640x480 to 909x480 and the mp4 file became a .mov file. Could this be the problem? |
