Why are all the parts "currently unavailable" from Amazon? Any other source??

John Kilderry January 19th, 2011 12:37 PM

I have one of these and it works pretty good: Motion Slider 36 Camera Slider

Well worth the $160.00 US.

Thanks John.
One question, how do you shoot down the slider and move in without getting the end of the slider in your shot?? I'm new to this... Tks.

Zoom, but you are really talking about a dolly shot where sliders are generally used for straight pans. Here is an example using the slider I linked (job for a friend renting property).

Wow. Thanks John. Love it. Great editing. Now, will you answer some questions?

1. At 1:03 is that a zoom or are you using the slider ? If the slider, why don't we see the track>

2. At 1:29 was that hand held? Very, very steady. If not HH how did you do it?

3. At 1:40 slider or zoom ? Again, why don't we see the sliger?

4. At 2:02 same question.

5. At 2:55 how did you get the golden sun yet it is so white on the water???

thanks again

Like I said, this was a project for a friend and not a paid gig so it's a little hammy - but it's what he wanted. Personally, I don't ever shoot hand held anymore.

IGUS Drylin Camera Slider Video Test

I denied myself the $1100 Bloom Signature Edition Pocket Dolly and proudly purchased the IGUS Drylin Camera Slider Model W1080-B. It performed really well with my Canon 1D Mark IV paired to a Manfrotto 701HDV and Benro Carbon Fiber Legs.

You can read more here Chad Soriano PhotoBlog: IGUS Drylin Camera Slider Video Test Review

thanks

Great video Chad. Thanks for the Review link too........
1. What lens did you use??

2. What length slider is it?

RE: IGUS Drylin Camera Slider Canon 1D Mark IV Video Test

Thanks Tom for the compliment!

I used the EF 85mm f/1.2L @f/1.2, 1/30th & iso100 for the opening shot. All the other shots I used the EF 35mm f/1.4L and the EF 17-40mmf/4.0L lenses.

The length of the slider is about 3.2 feet and a little over 4.2 inches wide. The exact model from IGUS is the W1080-B with pre drilled holes.

Re: Slider for under $200

I used the same IGUS DryLin Camera Slider W1080-B with the new Canon EOS Rebel T3i in a video test here...
