Dylan, Suggestion for DV#4!

Dylan,

Sign-up is a little slow and that may be for many reasons, holidays and all. Since this is for charity anyway, why not suspend the wall-of-shame penalty for this contest. If you wish to make a donation, feel free to do so without penalty! Turn in a film or not, but donate.

After all, this challenge is to raise money for a good cause! You are not going to draw those looking for big prizes.

Just an Idea!!!!!

Mike

I meant to add that a few days ago, yes, Wall Of Shame is suspended for this event!

Robert Martens November 25th, 2005 10:24 PM

Well, I'm in, maybe I'll get something done this time. At least I don't have to feel bad if I don't, though; "It's for a good cause." :)

Sean McHenry November 26th, 2005 01:05 AM

OK, new twist for me. I have had a torn shoulder, torn glenoid labrum, for a few months. It's getting quite difficult to pull off a T-shirt at the end of the day, etc. I will likely be having an "outpatient" surgical procedure on Dec 7th on my right shoulder. I hope to have something in the can by then or it's going to be interesting.

For you Canadians, an outpatient procedure here means you walk in and later that day, they pour you into a wheel barrow and hopefully a friend can drive you home. They tell me I'll be out for about 2 hours.

Maybe the anasthetic will give me a few editing ideas.

Just wanted to say one way or another, I will be posting something.

What! no Wall Of Shame!

I'm out - that is the symbol of the DV Challenge as far as I'm concerned - charity this way or that - even the most charitable people are not immune to shame.

Just kidding about being out - but if I can't get something done, I'm going to hang myself on my own personal wall of shame.

When is the "go" date? I've been out of it lately because of work.

Ed Smith November 26th, 2005 06:50 AM

Sign me up scotty!!!

uh yeah i'll give it a go this time round...

I'm in! But I NEED the Wall of Shame, to motivate me to finish!
It being the holidays, charity event and all, perhaps the Wall
will be self administered this time...

Dylan Couper November 27th, 2005 10:32 AM

Ok Dick, I'll put you on my own personal wall of shame! :)

For the people who want to mail cash, cash through the mail is probably safe, but I really suggest trying to find someone with a Paypal account to borrow, and tuck that cash into a local charity donation box.

Lorinda Norton November 27th, 2005 02:48 PM

Here we go again! :)

We've had enough of a break, Dylan, that it feels like the first time--kind of scary even! But it'll be great fun, as usual.

And Ed Smith...what a nice surprise! It will be cool for us to get to watch (and judge!) YOUR movie instead of the other way around. Have fun!!

Mike Teutsch November 27th, 2005 02:54 PM

Yea!

Way to go Lorinda! Keeps the consecutive streak going!

Just Mike

Adam Keen November 27th, 2005 09:26 PM

Alright, I'm in.

Lorinda Norton November 27th, 2005 10:30 PM

Hi Mekhael,

I’m sure that after all this time the rules have become a little muddled, all right.

Yes, by signing up here you are “in” the challenge. It begins Dec. 1. Dylan has given us more time on this challenge to have a three minute (four if you really need it) movie posted on a Web page and the link emailed to him by Dec. 11. That’s right; ten days to shoot, edit, and post your movie. Not bad, eh? You'll e-mail the link to your movie to www.thedvchallenge.com

He will post the theme of this challenge on Dec. 1 at an hour of his choosing. It varies, depending upon his mood and how busy he is. Come to think of it, lots of things vary, depending upon Dylan’s mood. ;)

This challenge is more easy-going than some, which is part of the reason I like it so much. Your movie is judged by how well it fits the theme, plus production value. This one, in particular, will be different because the participants are the judges!

To-date, the themes have run from “Trapped,” to “Secrets” and then “Cameras.” Dylan promises that this challenge will be a Christmas/holiday theme. But knowing him, don’t expect angels or snowflakes…

So, did I get it about right, guys? :)

Mike Teutsch November 28th, 2005 01:46 AM

Lorinda,

I'm sure you are about 95% right at least! The rest is up to Dylan and his Scotch supply, ah, if I remember it right! Unsure until the end and looking forward to it!

Come on everyone, join-up now and avoid the rush! Sign-up now and be among the most generous.

It is the time of the season to be generous, please do so.

All donations will go to a worthy charity, of the winners choice!

All penalties have been suspend for this constest, no wall-of-shame for this one, so all can apply!

Sign-up now
Sincerely,

Mike
