NY DV Show at Madison Square Garden

ZGC will be in the Canon booth at NY DV Show, January 30, 31 and February 1 at Madison Square Garden. Talk to Mizell Wilson, Christine Brnic and Barbara Lowry of ZGC at the booth.

We will be showing the P+S Technik Mini35 Digital Adapter for the Canon XL1/XL1S there as well as doing Canon sponsored sessions, and Maine Workshop sessions held across the street from Madison Square Garden at the Pennsylvania Hotel, Gold Room. See agendas for the sessions:

http://www.zgc.com/html/ny_dv_show_seminars.html

Sessions are free to holders of badges for the NY DV Show.

Mizell, Chris and I hope to see many of you stalwart Watchdog affectionados there!

Cheers,

Rob Lohman January 29th, 2003 10:57 AM

Would love to be there... but thats a tad too expensive for me
to join. Love to actually see a working Mini35.

Great work Barbara!

Barbara Lowry January 29th, 2003 11:33 AM

Rob, I understand that the fares between Europe and NYC are not too bad right now. If you don't have time for a trans-Atlantic trip, and I can't change your mind, then it'll have to be another time! I don't believe P+S Technik has a rental facility onboard in the Netherlands, but definitely in Germany, Italy, England, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Australia - FYI.

Cheers,

Barbara Lowry January 29th, 2003 11:39 AM

Forgot to mention that you can get the most up to date listing of worldwide rental facilities for the Mini35 Digital adapter by requesting information from: info@mini35.com.

For US and Canada rental facilities: www.zgc.com.

Cheers,

Rob Lohman January 29th, 2003 02:45 PM

Hi Barbara,

I don't know if you can change my mind, but a trip by plane
would cost me around $350 not including extra costs. etc.

Thanks for trying to get me there :)

Chris Hurd January 31st, 2003 12:13 AM

Hi Barb, I didn't realize you were going to be there! I saw Mizell briefly today and will be sure to check in on you tomorrow.

Chris Hurd February 12th, 2003 07:06 PM

Anybody going to PMA (the Photo Marketing Association tradeshow, all about still photo camera and digicams, not much video), please stop by the Canon booth and say hello! I think I'll be at the PowerShot counter.

More info at http://pma2003.pmai.org/ -- March 2 through 5 in Las Vegas. See you there,

Mark Argerake February 24th, 2003 09:09 PM

I'll be at NAB for a couple days ~~ I just need to find a place to stay. Cheapest would be to stay at the state line and drive the half hour in. But I'm still undecided. Anyone else on here driving to Vegas?

Chris Hurd February 24th, 2003 09:45 PM

Mark, try the Super 8 in Boulder City. Only about 15-20 minutes away from the Strip and much, much less expensive.

Chris Hurd March 16th, 2003 09:19 PM

N.A.B. is right around the corner, in Las Vegas from Mon 7 Apr thru Thu 10 Apr -- I'll be working the Canon booth -- be sure to drop by and say hello as I always enjoy meeting folks from the message boards.

If anyone is up for getting together informally for a beer or three, we can sure do that during one of the evenings. I'm always good for a round or two. Any takers?

Mark Argerake March 17th, 2003 09:43 AM

Beer?

I think it's a great idea to get to meet some of the DVI folks.

Chris -I ended up getting a room at Circus Circus. Reasonably cheap ($54) and I'm only in town for a couple nites.

Chris Hurd June 11th, 2003 10:56 AM

See you guys at Entertainment Technology World on June 27-28, downtown Los Angeles at the LACC. I'll be at the Canon booth... please drop by and say howdy!

Barbara Lowry June 11th, 2003 01:28 PM

ZGC at Canon Booth at ET World

Mizell Wilson of ZGC will be in the Canon Booth at "ET World" as well to meet and greet and show off the P+S Technik Mini35Digital adapter for the XL1/XL1S.

Have a great time there everyone!

Chris Hurd July 7th, 2003 11:50 AM

DV Expo East

Howdy from Texas,

Looking forward to meeting those of you attending DV Expo East later this week, July 9-10-11 in New York City. Please drop by the Canon booth and find me, and say hello! See you there,

Barbara Lowry July 7th, 2003 01:21 PM

DV Expo East

In addition to seeing Chris Hurd at DV Expo East, you will also find Mizell Wilson of ZGC manning the Mini35Digital adapter section of the Canon booth #211.

Christine Brnic of ZGC will be over at the Sony Booth #301 showing the Mini35Digital adapter for the PD150 and VX2000.

It promises to be a very good show!

Chris Hurd July 13th, 2003 11:12 PM

Anybody in the NYC attending "The Show Formerly Known as MacWorld," please drop by the Canon booth and say hello, it would be great to meet you (as usual)!

Albert Rodgers July 14th, 2003 12:21 AM

Hey Chris,
It would be great to network with individuals with DV experience. What is the RES fest about? I am interested in attending the one in Chicago since it is DV related.

Thanks.

Curtis T. Stoeber July 21st, 2003 07:08 AM

Chris, I assume you wear a cowboy hat at all times? Would that be a good way to identify you?

Chris Hurd July 21st, 2003 07:30 AM

Curtis

Cowboy hats don't look good on me. Instead, I rely on a good old-fashioned name tag, which is required attire at these events anyway. Somebody trying to find me can go to whatever booth I'm working at any particular event and say, "can you point me to Chris Hurd," and they'll say "oh, that guy again? sure," and that's usually all it takes. Hope this helps,

Mark Argerake July 23rd, 2003 09:19 AM

WEVA is about a month away. Any one heading to Vegas?

Chris Hurd July 23rd, 2003 09:37 AM

I'm thinking I'll be there. See ya at Bally's,

David Slingerland September 15th, 2003 01:27 AM

hello cris

I will be goiing to the IBC today and hope to see you there!! (monday)

greetings

David

Rob Lohman October 5th, 2003 05:51 AM

Too bad I didn't read this before I went to IBC... We could have
meet there. Next year then? :)

David Slingerland October 5th, 2003 02:44 PM

seems like a good idea to me rob.. It was one heck of a show don't you think? The new tapeless formats from Sony and Panasonic. The hard disc options from JVC and Ikegami. Also some new Minidv stuff including the small autoque manufactured by Optex.
I really enjoyed it and I hope you did.
David

Rob Lohman October 5th, 2003 03:25 PM

It was very nice indeed. We've seen very much digital cinema
there which was great. We also saw quite a few demos of
products, went to a free seminar as well. I even ran around
with a steadicam which was demanding beyond believe.

I was there saturday through monday though. Great time was
had by all!

I even went to a special presentation in the digital cinema
area where a hollywood DP (the guy that DP-ed Stuart Little 2)
talked which was quite interesting. I asked him what he thought
about shooting digital which he didn't really liked me asking
I think.... Heh.

Oh I also almost asked one of the tech guys in the digital
cinema to pop in my DVD version of my Lady X episode so
I could see it at a large screen... I chickened out though

David Slingerland October 5th, 2003 03:57 PM

I tried the steadicam pro and also the one with the Xl1s on it...I preferred the last one because of the weight!! No matter what those operators tell you..it can seriously hurt your back. I met Mister Steadicam himself Garret Brown. A friend of mine was actually doing the show for TIffen (steadicam ownners)
The mac's were impressive and so is final cut pro 4...still hoping to get my copy of that... your more of a pc man yourself right?
I guess i got hooked and i want to change but i keep buying mac's !

Rob Lohman October 5th, 2003 04:17 PM

Yeah, I'm a PC guy. But that mainly established itself through
my professions (programming). I'm so versatile with the PC and
can exploit any part of it basically that it won't be likely I'll ever
switch. But that's basically stick with what you know and works :)

I have switched from Premiere to Vegas though.

Chris Hurd October 28th, 2003 10:02 AM

DV Expo West

Howdy from Texas,

I'm pretty bummed out because at the last minute I had to cancel my plans to attend Govt. Video Expo in Washington, D.C. on Dec. 3rd & 4th. I was really looking forward to this as a lot of you guys are going to be there and I always look forward to meeting folks and getting together over a beer or two.

However, plans are firm, and airline tickets have been purchased, and it's all set in stone, for my trip out to Los Angeles for DV Expo West on Dec. 10th through 12th. So if any of y'all are planning on being there, please stop by the Canon booth where I'll be working, and say howdy. There's always a good party or two at this event -- the DV Magazine staff usually have their little soiree, and it'll be great to see that gang again. There's usually a Canopus party, nothing like hanging out with former co-workers so I'll definitely be at that one if it's going on. Whether we hook up on the show floor, or at one of the evening events, I'm hoping to see you there!

Mark Argerake December 2nd, 2003 07:30 AM

I'm registerd already for teh DVExpo, but Decemer always seems to be teh most difficult month to get away.

Chris do you ever get to the CES in Vegas? I'm supposed to head to that as well, but I guess I need to see how DEcember ends up before I know for sure.

Chris Hurd December 3rd, 2003 10:00 AM

Hi Mark,

CES in Vegas and MacWorld in San Francisco are two shows that run during the same week in early January. For the past couple of years, I've been going to MacWorld (because San Francisco is such a beautiful, interesting city and because I'm already in Vegas five other times during the year). However this time I might go to CES since I haven't done that show in awhile. As soon as I know which one it's going to be, I'll post it right here.

Mark Argerake January 6th, 2004 04:07 PM

Getting ready to drive to Vegas... wooo hooo. Not sure what to expect. Never been to the CES before. Lots of vendors selling the latest cool stuff cheap? A guy can dream can't he?/?

Robert Knecht Schmidt January 6th, 2004 04:10 PM

Cleveland will host one of the Videomaker Expos in March this year. Anyone coming into town for that is invited to come explore the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame--on me!

Chris Hurd January 7th, 2004 12:20 PM

From January 8th through the 11th, anyone attending the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, please drop by the Canon booth and say hello -- it's always great to meet folks from the message boards!

For Mark, CES is not a selling show; nothing is for sale on the show floor. But it is the single biggest technology event of the year... all the latest electronics; lots to gawk at! It's a lot of fun. See you there!

Chris Hurd January 23rd, 2004 11:03 AM

For anyone attending VideoMaker Expo West in Burbank Jan. 22-24, please drop by the Canon booth and say howdy! See you there,

Mark Argerake March 16th, 2004 08:05 AM

Chris what else is coming up over the next couple months other than NAB? I took a look at the calendar but nothing is listed.

Barbara Lowry March 16th, 2004 10:04 AM

The Mini35 Digital Image Converter will be at NAB in the Canon booth (#SU9649), the Panasonic booth (#C3811), the ZGC booth (#C10030) and in the P+S Technik booth (#C2158-6). Please come and check out the new 400 Series Mini35 firsthand!

Ozzie Alfonso March 16th, 2004 10:32 AM

Anyone know when the next NewYork City expo is taking place?

Steven Gotz March 30th, 2004 02:44 PM
