"Russian Ark" Out on DVD
"Russian Ark" is a film shot on HD video. Shot entirely in the Hermitage in St. Petersberg, it traces 300 years of Russian history. The amazing thing about it is that it was shot in one continuous 84-minute take -- no cuts at all.
It's out on DVD, and worth renting, even if you've already seen it. There's a very interesting 45-minute "making of" featurette on the DVD which provides some intriguing glimpses into the production process. |

hooray!
I've been waiting for this one to come out (on dvd), and I don't say this much any more. Didn't realize it was shot on HD.
