Easy method to attach laptop to tripod under $5.00
I have needed a method to support my laptop when shooting events, rather than a table or some other type of external support device and came up with a really lightweight way to easily support the laptop when shooting tethered.
Its basically a 2 part wood tray and a rear mounting bracket that sandwhiches the tray to the tripod legs. The mount is very firm and the way it is configured the laptop can not fall off. ;) Some photos below. |

Simple but looks like a brilliant solution!
To be honest, I've kind of stopped using the laptop on all but single location/single camera position as it was proving to be a real pain. It's the firewire connection that blows it for me. That has got to be one of the WORST connection designs in history! But I really do like your design (finished off with a couple of coats of Hammerite, of course!). Cheers. Ian . . . |

Great design!!!! I am definitely going to rig one of these up as soon as I can! I have been trying to think of a way to rig something like this up. :)
