DV to Disk Recorder

I just received the latest Markertek catalog (Winter 2003) and featured on the cover is a battery powered firewire drive designed for direct camera to disk capture. This unit, by Laird Telemedia, is called CapDiv and is described as a "wearable, battery operated full turnkey DV capture system".

Pretty cute -- looks like a Firestore after a reengineering in Munchkin land!

Wish it had a bigger HD, though.

Anybody know anything about the QuickStream DV Firewire drive from MCETech (www.mcetech.com)? I ran across it several months ago on their website (perhaps on a lead from this board??). They referenced a Q4 rollout, but so far I've heard nada. I e-mailed them today to see what gives. Thought maybe someone here might know what's up.
