Playback

Is it possible to have FCP move the timeline along with playback?

Re: Playback

Nope.

But if you hardware is fast enough, X keeps playing flawlessly while you scroll your storyline (two finger swipe on a laptop/pad as it plays.

On a slower system, you can alternate between Shift Z (show entire storyline) and zoom to the playhead.

Not ideal, but it will probably be addressed in a software update at some point in time.

Apple is still making the biggest changes in X at the structural/foundational level, and not spending as much time on stuff like timeline tweeks.

Thanks Bill, it'd be nice to see the timeline refresh position with the scrubber during playback.
