intel core 2 duo v.s. core duo

Is there any noticeable difference between a 2ghz intel core 2 duo and 2 ghz intel core duo? Or a theoretical difference?

"Modest" improvements according to Primate Labs' benchmarks.

Of course, they never tested FCP.
