title centering for 'pan and scan'[
quick question:
I edited a sequence in HDV with lots of subtitles etc. i would like the DVD to have both letterbox 16:9 and pan and scan options. BUT the subtitles are cut off in DVDSP pan/scan. what is the best way to 'pan and scan' the HDV sequence to 4:3 with titles and video centered? (i've tried a 4:3 time line in FCP, but can't seem to find sequence settings that don't either degrade the titles and video, or squish everything. i just want a 4:3 frame to scale and center things as needed...) thanks! |

you need to make sure your subtitles are 4:3 safe before you output.
you can use my guides generator to that effect, get it from http://homepage.mac.com/andymees place it on an upper video track, turn on the 4:3 guides option in the controls remember to disable or remove the guides before you output your final sequence |
