Exporting stills from 16:9 timeline distorts

I'm trying to export some still pix from my 16:9 timeline (HDV 1080p24)...I park on a frame, go to export, go to QT Conversion, export as a jpg or whatever, and it always comes out squished into a 4:3 aspect ratio. Is there a way around this? Thanks.

What happens if you import it into Photoshop and look at the image size? Is it shown as a 4:3 rectangle? Of course you could simply resize there, but I suspect the settings for the still frame export in your NLE are set wrong.

That's normal. HDV is 1440x1080, so it is natively "squished". For display, it is stretched out to 16:9. Stills must be stretched out manually (Image->Resize->Do not constrain proportions->1920x1080).
