HDV 720/24p support

Getting ready to start a new project. Will final cut pro support HDV 720/24p.

Yes. Anything after 5.1.4 should support HDV 720p24.

No it's not a free update. 5.0.x to 5.1.x was the switch to universal binary so they made you pay 50 bucks. Now with version 6 out they no longer offer 5.1.

I am trying to capture JVC 720/30p footage into my Final Cut System (4.5), via a JVC deck (JVC BR-HD50)

and I can't get it to recognize the deck.....

Do I need to upgrade FCP?
