Specifications required for multicam editing
I am in the process of editing a music video, i have about 16 tracks of video synced together however when i go to edit them using multicam the video keeps freezing as if it isnt rendered or something which it is. I am using a 17" macbook pro which i got in december. it is standard except for the hard drive.
Could it be that the computer isnt powerful enough to edit a 16 clip multiclip at once. |

You didn't say what format the footage was in - SD or HD? If it's HD there's now way in the world you'll play back 16 video tracks, you might get 8 in SD with a tricked out MacPro with SATA RAID or SAN storage - maybe.
You also didn't say if you had 16 separate drives for the 16 clips. If you're trying to play 16 different clips from the same drive exactly how is the drive supposed to access all 16 clips at once? From your description you are asking the impossible of your laptop. |

sorry about the previous post. I am working with the files in a sd dv pal format. I am also running the files from the same drive which is the hd on the laptop. I dont have acess to any raid systems like that.
It is currently looking like i am going to have to work out another way to edit these clips other than multiclip unless someone has a suggestion |
