HELP: Mac shutting down during encoding
My standard set up- Intel Macbook Pro, Toast Titanium -- has suddenly developed the glitch of turning itself off(the computer), during the encoding process when trying to burn DVD's. Has worked fine up until this weekend. Computer shuts down no matter whether I'm using external burner or internal burner. Nothing dramatic has happened recently, no new software or undates, can't figure it out. Was thinking maybe internal fan quit working (I can't tell if it's on or not) cause if I remember right, encoding generates heat and so maybe computer getting too hot, but don't have any other theories. Any theories appreciated. I have already done a safe boot and run Cocktail, to no avail.

If you remember hearing the internal fans spinning up and making noise during the burn and now you don't then that's probably the issue - heat. Take it to the Genius Bar and let them sort it out.
